Another fine day in Peru with the team from WHWC the air is crisp and the sun is just coming up to smile on the earth. Time for D & I to get the morning started with some hot pancakes and juice for one of the finest most enjoyable teams that has been here since Donnia and I have been helping with and we have helped with all of them.

After breakfast it was time to round up the volunteers to wash the dishes. This morning some fine young men who now have provided their parents with documented proof they can wash the dishes………..

Today is going to be a little lighter then the past ones have been. Today is the 15th and it is the anniversary of Arequipa.

one of the orphanages and help for the first part of the day doing some hard manual labor, moving dirt. This orphanage will be the second for Jose and Gloria it will be for the teen girls. The grounds are almost done and will soon be ready to start getting everybody in and set. This was not going to be an easy day but is will be a productive one.

Everybody worked hard, even the security guard that gave his life to Jesus on the first night got involved it was wonderful.

Lunch will be served on the grounds so that means sandwiches and chips and lots of water.

After the work at the orphanage it was time to come back to the mission house and get some R&R everybody gets a shower and then the rest of the day will be for resting and some much needed down time. Some decided to nap some to watch a few Church on the Move videos I had and others took time to catch up with some bible study.

All the while the house was being filled with the smells of lunch being prepared by Jemima and today it is pollo-saltado what is that, I am glad you ask.

1 lb. chicken
2 onions, sliced in strips
2 tomatoes, peeled and cut into lg. pieces
1 hot pepper, cleaned and cut in strips
Chopped parsley
Salt and pepper to taste

Cut heat into small pieces or strips and brown in oil. Add remaining ingredients and cook until tender. Serve with 1 pound French-fried potatoes and rice. Oh sooooooooooo good if you think it is easy to lose weight here you would be wrong. Dinner is served and it was a big hit and I think their may be some moms making some pollo-saltado in the states and it can be made with beef as well.

About 7 pm it was time for devotions and Pastor Tim bought some strings for guitar Lew had and the house was filled with praise and singing and testimonies and a powerful time of prayer.

Come tomorrow it is going to be a full day and it will be all day……..preaching,teaching,drama and some fun everybody is doing good and it is so much fun having them all here when they leave in a few days Lew and Mariesa will leave the next day and Donnia and I will be here.

It is going to be really quite but we have a full schedule of preaching and traveling to do before we come back to the states ourselves.
