One Last Update From Peru,Then On To Bolivia
| Bitter/Sweet Well this will be our last blog update from Peru as a resident. We are going to miss the many friends we made here to be sure. We will miss our friends Lew and Mariesa Davis,Donnia and I owe them so much. We had never lived on the mission field fulltime until we came to Peru and Lew and Mariesa took us under their wing and helped us so much. They showed us practical things that we will use for the rest of our lives and they showed us love and always had an encouraging word when we sometimes wondered if anyone knew we were here. And when it was time for us to move on to the next thing God had for us they again only had encouraging words and a helpful heart.Final Days Donnia and I and Pastor Charles are expecting our friend and fellow minister brother Murphy Hanley here in a few days as he will be ministering. Really all the preparation and arrangements have been made by a fellow missionary here in Arequipa and our good friend Charles Dean. He has worked hard to get a building and coordinate with local Pastors to make this a special time of ministry. If you do not know about the ministry of brother Charles then we invite you to find out more about him on his website at Charles Dean Ministries.Back to Bolivia As soon as Bro.Murphy is on the plane back to the USA Donnia and I will be on our way to our new home in Bolivia. First stop will be in La Paz to minister for Pastor Edson he is a Rhema Bolivia graduate and Pastor of La Palabra de Fe in La Paz. We will be taking a bus cama (bus with a bed) from Arequipa straight to La Paz where I will preach on Sunday morning and then we will catch a bus from La Paz to Cochabamba. We have a lot of work to get done before we leave for the USA in December. We have to get RBTC ready for the school year to start in March and prepare for Pastora Kim Connor and Mrs.Cathy Bentley to come and minister. This is going to be a real treat for everyone. This will be the first time Pastora Kim has been to Bolivia but we are hoping it will not be the last. Ms.Cathy on the other hand has been here a few times and every time she comes she imparts a spiritual deposit into our spirits. Also we are getting ready to come to the USA in December. We are looking forward to spending time with our family and friends. We will also be looking to minister in as many Churches as we can, to share what God has been doing in Bolivia and Peru and to raise some much needed support. If you would like us to come to your Church please contact us to arrange a time. Also if you would like to arrange a time for us to have lunch or dinner with you we would love to do that as well. Thank You Pastor Jorge We would be remiss if we neglected to say thank you to our dear friend Pastor Jorge Benavides. He worked so hard to help us with getting all of our things moved to Bolivia. He has a member of his Church who’s father owns a semi truck, and made arrangements with him to transport our books and TV and clothes everything we had here in Peru except our computer desks. We did have to pay the driver but it was worth it to Donnia and I to be able to have our things transported to Bolivia safely. Pastor Jorge will be going to Bolivia with us in November for a few days to help us with our trip.Transportation in Bolivia We need a way to get around safely. We are looking to purchase a midsized car or mini van (which would really be best) or we can purchase a Honda motorcycle for $3000 US dollars. This would enable us to save quite a bit of money for taxi fares and give us the mobility to maintain the ministry in a much more effective way. I will be working at RBTC everyday as well as ministering in the area and we will need to make frequent trips to La Paz and Santa Cruz and other areas.A Few Hours In Cusco We were able to spend about 9 hours in Cusco,Peru what a wonderful and historic city. So many old Spanish buildings and Churches. The Principal Plaza (in Peru all main plaza are called the same “Plaza de Armas”) was just beautifully landscaped with flowers and Topiaries. There are four plazas in Cusco all wonderfully landscaped. While we were there a celebration was being held with parades and marching bands and soldiers. It was the raising of the flags day. Of course we went to the chocolate museum and had a sample or two and ate lunch in a really cozy restaurant with a balcony overlooking the square. Soon it was time to go to the bus station and start our final leg back to Arequipa but it was a really nice way to spend the day. Happy Birthday Donnia ¡Feliz Cumpleaños Once back in Peru we were welcomed by the friends that missed us and a big party was being planned. It was going to be Donnia’s birthday in a few days Oct 30th and Francy had stuff in the works. On Sunday the 30th she was at our home bright and early before Church with chicken and vegetables and spices and potatoes. But what she did not know was that it was not enough because the party had grown to at least 15 maybe 17 people. So we went and bought some more chicken and stuff. The meal Francy was going to make is called Pollo Huancayo and was it ever good. We had a good night and Donnia was so blessed she even got a call from people in Lima wishing her a happy day. Construction Mission Teams Do you feel like God wants to use you on a short term mission trip but you are not a preacher. Then you are a helps minister, maybe you are an electrician or know something about plumbing or perhaps you would not mind painting a wall or two or some other construction type things. If that is you we could REALLY use you in Bolivia for a week or two. WE need to get the campus of RHEMA Bible Training Center ready for the new year. If you would like to be a part of this project please contact me today. Just go to Alexander Ministries Intl and send us an email and we will give you all the details. Thank You Thank you for your interest in the financial support of Alexander Ministries. This ministry operates by faith. And God is always faithful to provide by dealing with the right person at the right time to give so that every need is met with surplus. Your gift is an answer to our faith and prayers. It is also an investment in God's eternal kingdom for which you'll receive reward. We thank you for your partnership in the gospel and ask you to join us in expecting a multiplied return to you in Jesus name. |
